Any student living in Franklin, NC between the ages of 14 years and 6 months and 17 years old will register at Franklin High School.

Students living in Franklin, NC

To be eligible to register for a class session, you must be 14 years and 6 months old by the first day of class.

NC requires students under the age of 18

  • to be actively seeking a high school diploma and be a resident of NC
  • to complete a 30-hour driver education class
  • to complete 6 hours of in-car instruction with a certified licensed instructor
  • Schools may charge up to $65 for drivers education.

200 Question Exemption Test Schedule

Study Session: 

Monday, September 23rd @ 3:15pm – 6:15pm

*DMV Eye Exam will be offered on the 23rd beginning @ 3:15pm in the library

200 Question Test:

Saturday, Septemeber 28th @ 9:00am

Location for study session and test will be in the FHS cafeteria.

Registration:

Registration for the exemption test will ONLY BE AVAILABLE September 16th – 23rd from 7:30am – 8:00am in the Drivers Ed Office

Cost: $65 (CASH ONLY)

*Any student that has previously registered for the on-line class will not be required to pay an additional $65.
